• • Unit 01: Introduction to Health and Safety Awareness in the Work Place

Guided Learning Hours (GLH)

Guided Learning Hours include all time in which a learner receives direct guidance or supervision from a lecturer, tutor, trainer, supervisor, or another approved education or training provider. This covers taught sessions, supported learning activities, and any supervised instruction related to the qualification.

The Guided Learning Hours for this qualification are 18 hours.

Total Qualification Time (TQT)

Total Qualification Time represents the overall time a learner is expected to spend completing the qualification. This includes the Guided Learning Hours as well as additional time spent on preparation, independent study, and assessment activities. These activities take place under the direction of a tutor or training provider but are completed without direct supervision.

The Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 20 hours.
The qualification carries a credit value of 2.

Assessment for this qualification follows the standards set by the relevant regulatory authorities. The NCFE Level 1 Award in Health and Safety Awareness is internally assessed through a learner workbook that covers all required learning outcomes. Learners must complete the workbook, which contains a mix of short-answer and extended-response questions.

Training centres may use additional learning activities or collect further evidence where necessary to support learners in completing their workbooks. All internal assessment decisions are reviewed through external quality assurance at least once per year. External Quality Assurers sample learner evidence to confirm that assessment decisions are accurate, consistent, fair, and in line with national requirements.
